Available for FREE for Subscribers

For the next three months, I’m giving away Susannah’s Choice to subscribers to my newsletter! It’s available only through Bookfunnel here: https://bookhip.com/DXRRWKA

It’s going to ask for your email, but if you’re already subscribed, you won’t be subscribed again, so no worries there!

Here’s the story:

Two proposals in less than a week? Has Susannah’s red-headed curse come to an end?

Susannah Carver is a cursed redhead. Although she was engaged to be married once, her fiancĂ© broke their engagement, and now she’s certain she’ll end up like the red headed librarian in town, a spinster. No matter, with looking for a suitor out of the way, she can just concentrate on herself and study to become a nurse. When she hears of the need for nurses and doctors out west, she heeds the call.

But when she arrives in the mining town of Silver Hills, she’s warned that she should never go out after dark unaccompanied. And the doctor she’s gone to work for has hopes that she might become his bride as well. When the circuit judge also makes a proposal to her, Susannah feels she might just go insane. She’s only been in Colorado for four days, and she’s already had two proposals. Maybe her curse has come to an end?

New Release for a New Series

The Oregon trail has long been a place of curiosity and adventure for me. To travel for five or six months along open trail through plains, desert, and mountains. Spending each day working toward the common goal with the other families on the wagon train, and braving the weather, elements, and fighting nature just to survive and move toward the goal of greener pastures on the other side of the journey. There’s romance and adventure in the possibilities.

Denver Public Library Special Collections, X-11929

Several great authors have joined me in writing about this romantic adventure, and the first book in the series has just released today on Amazon!

The west is too wild for an unwed woman. If you want to ride on my wagon train and make it to Oregon, you’ll need to find yourself a husband.”

THE RELUCTANT WAGON TRAIN BRIDE ~ Twenty brides find themselves in a compromising situation. They have to get married in order to travel to Oregon on their wagon train. Each story in the series is a clean, standalone romance. Will the bride end up falling in love with her reluctant husband? Or will she get an annulment when they reach Oregon? Each bride has a different story ~ Read each one and don’t miss out!

A JOURNEY FOR LILY

When Lily Browne’s father loses his job at the bank, he decides to make the journey out west, to claim land for cheap in Oregon. And when Lily hears of the need for school teachers out there, she decides that she must go too. There’s only one problem. Even though Lily is barely nineteen, the wagon master demands that she cannot accompany the train without being wed. But she can’t be a school teacher if she’s married…

Wayne Cody became a felon by accident when he was fifteen. After serving his time, he was released to find out that he has no family, and no more than five dollars to his name. He doesn’t know much about anything other than guns, horses, and cattle, so he attempts to get hired by a wagon train to help several families make it to Oregon to claim land. If he can somehow earn enough money, he can claim land for himself, too. Then, Mr. Browne makes him an offer he can’t refuse.

2020 is turning out to be a memorable already

2020 is already turning out to be a rough year... but the rough patch for me started a bit early--on Christmas day. We had an old female dog (11 years) who we've been battling congestive heart failure with, and she was on a steroid and diuretic to allow her to have a reasonable quality of life for her last days. We knew her time was coming, but we hoped she'd make it past the holidays. She didn't, unfortunately and passed at around noon on Christmas Day.

On New Years, we had one of our old horses (22 years old) colic and when the vet came out, he found what might have been a tumor in his colon. Needless to say, we lost him, too. Then, shortly after Valentine's Day, we were at the emergency room with my husband for a prolonged fever. Turns out, he had pneumonia caused by strep and ended up having to spend nearly two weeks in the hospital and having surgery.

We're all recovering from battle after spiritual battle in our house ~ Pray for us too if you get a chance!

For our struggle is not against flesh and blood,
but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world
and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. - Ephesians 6:12

Now, here we are--nearly halfway through March, and I've had only a few releases this year. In January, February, and March, I'm only able to get out one book each month. February's release is A Bride for Silas, in case you missed it:
Summer, 1881
When Margaret Thomas dared step out of line as a teacher at a prestigious girl's academy, her life falls apart. She has no prospects for further employment and no chance of marriage. She lost her family in a fire that left her scarred as a young child. Because she's prone to rash decisions, she decides on a whim to answer the advertisement for a mail-order bride in New Mexico Territory.
Silas Coleman is an undertaker, shunned by the people of Fort Sumner. When his mother passes on, she leaves instructions with the reverend to advertise for a bride for her son. But the advertisement doesn't say his occupation, and it requires a wedding by proxy before the new bride arrives.
Can these two lost and lonely hearts find love and a family when they both hit rock bottom?

Latest Releases and a Giveaway you don't want to miss

Can two lonely and lost hearts find one another at the Matchmaker's Ball?

Jeremiah Washington cannot find employment as a cowboy--the only thing he's ever done--since the closing of the Wilson Ranch in Manassa. He came to Creede with his boss, Angel Wilson, and decided to try to make the place home, just as she did. When a job falls in his lap, he becomes the last thing anyone would have expected of him. A lawman. But his first job holds a bit more adventure than he'd hoped for, and he still has dreams of settling down and getting married, himself. Just when he thinks he's found the right woman for him, his new job as deputy marshal gets in the way.

Penelope Warner's grandfather passes on and leaves her with a house and life in Creede, Colorado. The only problem is that she's in Yuma, Arizona, and due to a rare sun sensitivity, she hasn't left her home in over fifteen years. How is she to go outside in the sun and travel alone and do all the things that she'd never dream she could?

Three New Releases you don't want to miss and a Free book

This month I've had 3 new releases so far. I'm still expecting 2 more releases before the end of the month as well as four in December! I'm writing as fast as I can, and as long as the characters keep telling me their stories, I'll have new ones for you often!

Here are the three latest releases:

Adelaide is running from trouble, but runs right into the Pinkerton Agency. When she gets matched with a rough-looking former pugilist, will she run again?
Two hearts separated by time reunite and remind each other of what's really important.
Angel Wilson has been running her family's farm, her late father's veterinary practice, and everything in between. She's never had time to be feminine or dream for herself. She never even knew she wanted those things until she runs into her first love Henry again, the owner of the South Creede Livery.
December 1880
A rejected nanny who is the center of scorn. A sheriff who loses his bride. Can a spurned spinster of a mail-order bride become the family a sheriff needs for Christmas?

And finally, for the season, I recommend this little promise box of verses and thoughts that will help you be more thankful this season - it's FREE at Amazon:
This book is a short devotional book with scriptures and notes on those scriptures meant to engage the reader in praise and thanksgiving for God and His promises. Perfect for this season of thanks, but can be used any time of year to help you remember all the things God has done for you and why we should praise Him!
