Even the broken can be healed...

Rebecca Walsh has only ever had two loves, her family and horses. But when her father and brother died in the Civil War, her family is left as broken as her home town. When the town sent an advertisement for mail-order grooms, Rebecca didn't have much interest in wooing one. She just hoped the men might save her town, so her family could stay in the only home they'd ever known.

Jake Harper came to Brokken, Texas to leave his name and his past behind. He hoped to find a future that would help him forget the mistakes he'd made. But one of the other "leftover" men in town has been keeping an eye on Jake and his past might be catching up with him. And as he draws closer to Rebecca, his fears multiply.

New Release Today ~ Heart and Home

Hi Everybody! I have a new book out that just released today as part of the Thanksgiving Books and Blessings Collection. Here's a first page preview of this story ~ I hope it will be  a blessing to you as we head into autumn.
Jacob is bad luck, and Caroline is stuck in the past. Can both of them get past their difficulties to find family together at Thanksgiving?

When Caroline moved from her hometown in Pennsylvania to the Montana Territory, she had two things that convinced her to move—her husband, and the children who needed her as a teacher in the small mining town. But when her husband died in an accident, only the children have kept her in Helena for the past few years. With Thanksgiving just around the corner, Caroline misses having her family and friends to connect to, but she still has the children who need her. And then when the mayor hires an out-of-work miner to repair the schoolhouse, Caroline wonders if she can help fulfill the needs of others in the spirit of the season.

First Page Preview:
Caroline took a deep breath and brushed her hand across her head to make sure her bun was still in place before headed toward the door of her small home. She glanced down, as she had done every day since the terrible accident. William’s boots sat right where she left them, and her heart grew heavier in her chest. Something about the weather changing and growing cooler put her in a nostalgic mood. Caroline couldn’t help but think about her husband and his loss that much more.
The wind picked up and threatened to pull the door from her hand, making her grip the knob harder. After pulling the door shut tightly, she started off toward the schoolhouse where the town’s children awaited. That was how she was able to overcome her trepidation about moving out west as William wanted. She had been perfectly content to stay in Harrisburg but the call for riches was too great for William. Once she heard that there were children in the west who were desperate for teachers, she needed no more convincing.
The morning air smelled of fallen leaves and fresh earth.
His mercies are new every morning… she thought as she hurried down the wooded trail. She didn’t have much to worry about here, but when she got to the main street of town, it was a different story. When her feet hit the wooden sidewalk, she quickened her pace. An older drunk came stumbling out as she passed the saloon, and she darted past him. Caroline had never been scared to live in Helena when William was alive, but with him gone, it was a different story. At only twenty-three, she was already a widow and living alone in this wild western town plagued with gold seekers and miners. She swallowed. It was virtually unheard of.

Murder on New Year's Eve

(A Ridgeway Rescue Mystery Book 1)

Ridgeway Rescue Mysteries can be read in 1-2 hours. Perfect for when you're waiting for an appointment or just want a fast read. Don't miss out on this quick, clean, cozy mystery that will keep you guessing until the end!

It's New Year’s Eve and 20-year-old Emma Wright has a date with her crush—well, not a real date, but she can dream! Colby Davidson, the K9 search and rescue deputy, is allowing her to accompany him while he’s on patrol at the Ridgeway Illumination Festival. Though they are just friends, she’s still hoping for a possible kiss at the end of the festivities.

When a stranger asks them to help take some pictures at the event, Emma and Colby are happy to oblige. But their assistance turns them into alibis for the man’s whereabouts while his girlfriend was killed. Most of the clues point to a robbery gone bad, but Emma doesn’t believe all of them point that way. Was it really a robbery or was it murder?
